So, this is the big England trip.
We flew out of Baltimore on a British Airways redeye on the night of 2 March and landed at Heathrow on Thursday morning, 3 March. Weather was cold and cloudy (the way I like it, but in the midst of a particularly surprising cold snap in London.) We made our way via train, bus and tube to the hotel in Bayswater, collapsed, then did a little food shopping and headed to the Shakespeare Pub for a pint.
The next day was our tourist day where I did my best to kill Jenn by dragging her to the Tower of London, the Tower Bridge, the Design Museum and the Tate Modern. She lived to tell about it, but made me promise to slow the pace the rest of the trip.
Saturday, we went to the Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill, a pleasant walk from our hotel, bought some fresh veggies and olives for dinner, then hung out in a pub for a while, before heading back to the hotel to wash up and make our way to the West End where we saw The Reduced Theatre Company doing, "The Complete Works of Shakespeare".
